Julie Pharaoh-Gan, HAPPA Development Manager explains “HAPPA commemorate those horses, ponies, donkeys and mules lost in battle every year with wreaths placed both at Shores Hey Farm and via a HAPPA supporter at The Menin Gate Memorial in Belgium.
This year we got in contact with our friends at Burnley FC in the Community and held a special silence on Friday 9th November. We will never forget those servicemen who gave their lives so that we may be free, but we should also remember the millions of animals who also fought and died alongside those men. Millions of equines were deployed in battle with many never making it back, “Lest We Forget”.
