HAPPA Shores Hey Farm is a registered charity in England and Wales specialising in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of neglected and abused equines. Winner of Marketing Lancashire Small Visitor Attraction Award 2017; the site is beginning to develop into a tourist attraction with all profits going towards looking after the equines in our care.

The successful candidate should be:
• Able to participate in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, snacks and buffets to a consistently high standard
• Able to input into the design of menus
• Able to adhere to HAPPA’s recipe specification for all items on the menu
• Able to work in line with current safety standards
• Passionate about locally sourced Lancashire food
• Practically skilled in baking

Café Assistant

As a Café Assistant you will assist the Restaurant Supervisor to deliver high standards through excellent customer service and knowledge of our Lancashire menu. You’ll be responsible for providing our visitors with the highest standards of customer service & ensuring that HAPPA objectives are delivered at all times.
We’re looking for someone who knows how to make a difference. Someone who is self-motivated and has a real passion for customer service. Experience in a similar role is preferred but it’s your people skills, your flexibility, your positive and happy demeanour your work ethic that will really set you apart.

Equine Care Supervisor

HAPPA requires a competent and experienced horse person to fulfil the role of Equine Care Supervisor. You will be working alongside the Senior Equine Training Officer to supervise and support the Equine Care Officers and guarantee high standards of schooling and retraining are offered to all equines at Shores Hey Farm.

The ideal candidate along with exemplary stable management skills will have; specialist knowledge and understanding of the specific needs of equines on a bespoke rehabilitation and schooling programme. Have sound knowledge and experience of backing and schooling on equines of all ages and abilities.

Please note this is a shared role with one supervisor offering specialist support to the care of the equines and this position overseeing specialist support to the training of the equines, alongside supervising the general day to day activities and workload of the Equine Care Officers.

42.5 hours per week by rolling rota (including weekends) and required to complete equine late checks 8.30pm- 9pm on a rota basis.

A minimum of BHS Stage 2 Care, Lunge and Ride, or equivalent is essential.
